Chip Introduction
SS8870T is a brush type DC motor driver, which is suitable for printers, smart homes, industrial equipment and other electromechanical integrated motors. Two input logic controls the H-bridge driver. The driver consists of four N-channel metal oxide semiconductor Field-effect transistor, which output 3.6A peak current to control the motor in both directions. Using the current decay mode, the motor speed can be controlled by pulse width modulation of the input. If the logic input is set to low level, the motor driver enters low-power sleep mode.
The SS8870T has an integrated current regulation function, which is based on the voltage of the analog input VREF and ISEN pins (proportional to the motor current flowing through the external sensing resistor). The device can limit the current to a known level, which significantly reduces system power consumption requirements and does not require large capacitors to maintain stable voltage, especially during motor startup and shutdown. The device provides comprehensive protection against fault and short circuit problems, including Undervoltage-lockout (UVLO), overcurrent protection (OCP) and overheat protection (OTP).
